Revolving credit that replenishes when you repay

Use funds to cover subcontractor expenses

No fees for unused funds, no pre-payment penalties

Unlike a bank line of credit, Flex Line is designed to be actively used.

  • We don't review every invoice, we don't reach out to your GC, and we don't contact your supplier. Your project relationships stay completely yours.
  • We're not replacing your bank line. Flex Line adds to your capital stack without impacting it.
  • There are no fees for unused capacity and no prepayment penalties.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a bank line of credit and a construction-specific line at the same time?
Yes. Many subcontractors use both. A bank line works well for longer-term strategic uses — equipment, expansion, bonding-adjacent scenarios. A construction revolving line like Flex Line covers short-term operational needs like payroll and overhead without drawing down the bank facility.
How does the Flex Line product work?
You apply through the Billd portal, and upon approval can draw from your line once it is established. Drawing in the portal is simple and you are able to make payments to replenish the line, using this as a revolving source of capital.
Why does my bank line feel smaller than my business needs?
Bank credit limits are set based on historical financials. If your business has grown significantly since your last review, your credit limit likely hasn't kept pace. It's common for fast-growing subcontractors to find their bank line covers less than 10% of current annual revenue (Source: 2026 National Subcontractor Market Report).
What can Flex Line be used for?
Flex Line can be used for ordinary business expense: labor, materials, overhead, or vendor payments. Unlike project-specific financing, there's no requirement to submit project documentation. Draw what you need, repay it, and the available credit restores automatically.
How is Flex Line different from Material Financing or Pay App Advance?
Material Financing and Pay App Advance are project-specific. Material Financing pays your supplier directly for a specific material order. Pay App Advance unlocks the value of a specific approved pay application. Flex Line is broader. It's revolving working capital you can draw against for any business expense, with no project documentation required. Many subcontractors who use multiple Billd products treat Flex Line as the always-available backstop and use Material Financing and Pay App Advance for project-tied costs.
How much can I draw on Flex Line?
Flex Line offers up to $350,000 in revolving credit. The line size is based on your business financials and history. As you repay what you've drawn, available credit replenishes automatically.
Who qualifies for Flex Line?
Flex Line is built for commercial subcontractors with $4M+ in annual revenue. The line is subject to application, credit review, and approval. Residential-only contractors aren't eligible.
How fast can I get funded once I'm approved?
Funding is available in as little as 48 hours after approval. Once your line is set up, draws are processed quickly so working capital is available when you actually need it.
How does repayment work?
While you carry a balance, you make weekly finance charges plus a monthly principal paydown, as established in your master note. There's no prepayment penalty, so you can pay the line down faster whenever it makes sense for the business.
Are there fees to keep the line open if I'm not using it?
No. You only pay when you draw. There are no fees on unused funds, so Flex Line can sit available as a backstop without costing anything until you need it.
Does Flex Line affect my bank line of credit or bonding capacity?
Flex Line is separate working capital that sits outside your bank facility. Many subcontractors use it specifically to preserve their bank line and bonding-adjacent capital for long-term strategic uses. As with any credit facility, talk to your surety and bank about how it appears on your financials so it fits cleanly into your broader capital strategy.
